Hey I read your guide to waifuism and I like it. But I'm having trouble because I think one community only let me in initially because they thought I liked the more popular version of a character and not the version barely anyone knows about.
I think a lot of the stupid and harmful rules come from the fact a lot of moderators don't want to do their job. I am considering leaving some waifuist communities because I don't fit in with all the people who gush constantly about how cute their waifu is. I am on the more serious side and treat my relationship just like it was a 3D/real life one. I don't know what to do. I feel I have never fit into online spaces because no one wants to have a serious discussion and everyone is silly and overly supportive of nonsense that doesn't let people grow and realise their mistakes. Should I just leave all the waifuism communities behind and embark on my own journey? The issue is I have met a handful of wonderful people through one particular community. Any help would be appreciated. -

I'd advise to do what I do, and stick to smaller communities, especially ones with folks you already know! I'm quite happy with my small circle of fictional character-lovers, and the singular Discord server I'm in. Wider communities tend to involve more gatekeeping.

Hey there! Saw the post on the wall about being followed by weirdoes. I really hope it's not MY neocities site stirring trouble when I followed you!
If so, please forgive me; wasn't my intention at all! The sketchy cult group (...Aristasia... they named themselves after stockings uhhh) I wrote about wasn't TERFs, but some people nowadays (TERFs) WANT them to have been.
This makes writing about it a lot more difficult, and it's complicated enough anyways. The movement was mostly queer woman, but early on, many had REALLY weird Guénonian beliefs that creep me out nowadays. I got involved at thirteen and am unpacking a lot.
I’m not interested in TERFs nor one myself. I admit I don’t know beans about gender sometimes, but it’s something I definitely wanna understand more and support all sorts if I even conceivably can.
If it's my site, I’d be happy to clarify further (email provided) or just hit unfollow/DNI. I strongly believe we all get to choose who we interact with, especially online, no negativity intended whatsoever.
I like your site A LOT though, the insights on alterhumanity and neurodivergence are top-notch, and compliments on the design, too. -

No, no, no!! That wasn't you! Honestly, I have your site bookmarked (and I had THOUGHT I had followed it, apparently not, damn) because I'm super interested in hearing about it. I LOVE that sort of internet lore!
If you don't mind me going into detail... As someone who is well-versed in TERF-and-related dogwhistles, I could tell that you were trans-friendly via your note that your site is LGBTQ-friendly and unwelcome to TERFs. Plus, the trans flag, and the usage of the sunset lesbian flag (TERFs tend to use the labrys flag).
There are lots of historical movements and figures (including recent history, like the 2000s) that we, as queer people, may be fascinated by, but which do not reflect our values. Lots of queer historical icons were notedly awful in other ways. However, there are ways which we can look back upon the queer people and movements of our past without glorifying everything that they have to offer. It's our lineage, after all, and we have the duty to archive the stories of who came before us, the good *and* the bad. That's what I consider your site to be all about.
Lol, sorry for that little soapbox moment there -- all of this to say, don't worry about accidentally flying TERF flags, you're all good.
